Thank goodness for technology

The last few days before taking off for a vacation are always a little hectic, no?

You have this laundry list of things To Do before leaving. Which of course, is an ongoing mental list because extra things always pop up. And you’re bound to forget one or two. Ya just gotta hope they’re not the big ticket items. Like, turning off the coffee pot, packing your running shoes, or holding your mail.

I guess the running shoes thing isn’t a big deal :) You can always buy running shoes when you arrive.

Weez, Cabo, and I leave for our road trip/cross country journey to the midwest tomorrow, bright and early, 6AM. I haven’t started to pack and there’s a mound of laundry on the floor the size of everest. It’ll get done, no bother.

On top of my own running around, one of my dearest friends from grad school is leaving today. She flies back to France to begin working in the coveted ‘real world’ (that we grad students all dream about). Her post doc is complete; she’s moving back home to be with her family and fiance. I couldn’t be more excited for her next phase of life; I’m just sad I’ll be losing her from mine here in CO.

To celebrate her last night in BoCo, in typical Efo/PT fashion, we went over the top: a very lovely dinner at the nicest restaurant in town: Flagstaff. The restaurant overlooks the city lights below. We got the best table in the house.

The food was out of this world incredible; one of the best meals and wine of my life, hands down. Flagstaff is 5 star for a reason. We sat at our table, enjoyed our multiple-course meal, talking and laughing and crying until we were the last ones there. You spoil me, PT. I’m a very lucky friend.

Friendships are so precious to me. I wouldn’t be who I am if it were for the close friends (and family) in my life.

I’m so thankful for her friendship, and for the technology that will keep us in touch despite the thousands of miles. Skype is so dang cool. Gchat. Facebook. All that jazz. Thank goodness for technology.

This girl is gonna move mountains.

She’s a rockstar and will be wildly successful anywhere she goes. Oh, PT, my life wouldn’t be the same without you! Travel safe! I love you!

It’s so hard to lose a good friend! I have one leaving next Sept. and I am in complete denial! I’m glad you had a nice final night out with yours. I think a trip to France to visit her is definitely in order!

    Safe travels to Ohio.

  2. Looks like you both had a lovely time!
