Cabo is such a daddy’s girl. It’s been that way since the day we brought her home. I never stood a chance.
She follows Weez around everywhere. She picks Weez over me, if we’re both calling her name. She sleeps on the floor on Weez’s side of the bed. She curls up on the ground next to Weez, no matter what side of the couch he sits down at.
That crazy girl. I’m so jealous of Weez’s relationship with her :) No amount of lovin’ or attention I give Cabo will make her chose me instead of Weez. Haha. Not fair.
Cabo isn’t even allowed on the couch, but I made an exception because I never get moments like this with her. I sat on that couch with her on my lap for two hours yesterday because I just didn’t want the moment to end. My legs went numb, my feet were tingling, but I didn’t care.
Today’s workout: 7 easy, slow miles on the trails. I’m aiming to run 1 midweek ‘longish’ run per week; half the distance of the upcoming weekend long run. We have 12 on deck, but I felt good after 6 miles, so I just tacked on the extra mile for good measure. As our long runs creep up to 16… 18… 20… our midweek runs will increase to 8, 9, and 10. 10 miles in the morning before work is pretty legit. I better start training my body to wake up earlier!
I hear it’s supposed to be a high of 21 on Sunday, so I’ll either have to bundle up well, or I might shift the run to Saturday (tomorrow) instead. Again, I’m a big fan of just playing it by ear. Keepin’ it relaxed thus far.
If you have a pet, do they have a favorite between you and your signif?
