73 mile weekend

I self-propelled myself 73 miles this weekend and I’m pretty dang proud about that.
20 mile bike ride on Friday.
42 mile bike ride on Saturday.
11 mile trail run on Sunday.

Our Saturday ride was gorgeous and perfect. It was sunny and hot, and despite my bum hurting like crazy by mile 32, I pushed through. I had the company of some stellar cyclist friends, and we finished our ride at Avery’s Brewery. I forgot my ID, but this cola was the most delicious thing in the world after 2+ hours of riding.

On Sunday, Weez and I hit the trails for an 11 mile run. Within 5 minutes on the trails, we almost ran over this big guy (and I nearly had a heart attack):
Me and snakes… not so much.

The first half of the run was tough. We climbed over 1600 ft of elevation total. It’s all worth it though, because we get to run on these:
Le sigh. Trail running, I love you. The last 3 miles were quick, and we tried to bring it in as fast as possible. A nice tempo run.

Needless to say, my legs were cashed afterwards.

Which explains why I fell asleep on the couch at 8PM, while Weez finished all the laundry, cleaned the apartment, and took care of Cabo. I contribute so much to our marriage.

How was your run/ride this weekend?
What’s your fave post-run/bike reward?
What creepy/crawly/slimy creature do you fear the most?

Yikes! I can’t do snakes. I can’t believe you took a picture. When I see snakes out on the trails (or even the bike paths) I tend to haul ass in the other direction. Looks like it was a fun weekend on the front range!

I’m so with you on snakes, especially big snakes like that! And so jealous of your trails. Nice weekend you had!
