28 days down, 18 to go (#Lent)

on

Did you know Lent is not 40 Days?!

Lent is 40 days PLUS the 6 Sundays between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday. How did I not know this before?! Those 6 extra days are killin’ me here. I could be only 12 glorious days away from my beloved sweets all of kinds, but no, I’ve still got 18 long, sweet treat-free days ahead.

I’m proud to say, that for the past 28 days, I haven’t had ONE sweet. My definition of “sweets” is a sweet treat; aka candy, cookies, cake, honey, soda, coffeemate, fruit snacks, etc. The gray region is stuff like lemonade, which I’ll admit, I had one or two glasses of lemonade over the past 4 weeks. But I’m okay with that.

I even baked my favorite homemade cookies (as a thank you gift to someone) (it was almost torture not eating even one cookie, after they were fresh out the oven).

Thanks to Pintrest (or ‘pin-interest’ as I used to call it), I’m collecting a list of tasty treats I can’t wait to bake on April 8th.

Seriously, at midnight on April 7th/12am on April 8th, you can expect to find me in my kitchen, with cake batter and chocolate and sugar flying all over the place. I should probably get an apron… I’ve always wanted one…

Did you give up anything for Lent? If so, how’s it going?
What’s one of your favorite desserts?

You know since Sundays are not considered Lent, you are free to indulge in what you gave up for Lent?
