Active Family Weekend in Austin

on

Wowza talk about an active weekend in Austin! It was amazing seeing my parents, Addie (our family dog. love her so much), and my sister and her family. Really makes me wish I could see them more often, and sad that we live so far away. But we had a blast. Go, go, go all weekend long.

I ran twice on Saturday (while my dad cycled alongside), followed by an afternoon hike with everyone at the Turkey Creek Trail. My nephew is THE cutest. Especially in his little hiking backpack.
After the hike, we went out for tex-mex (aka, my favorite food in the entire world), where I gorged myself with table-side gauc and nachos. I could barely eat my meal, but I pushed through ;)

My nephew is so cute and I love him so much. I can’t believe how much he’s learning by the SECOND and how much fun he is to be around. He’s so happy and loves giving hugs, and I just wish I could be around him more!

On Sunday, I went for a great run with my sis and BIL (baby nephew in his running stroller!) along Town Lake. It was sunny and the weather was perfection. Warm and refreshing. Then we made our way to the annual Austin Kite Festival. SO COOL you guys. This huge park was just packed with people, kids, dogs, and hundreds of kites soaring in the air, with Austin’s skyline as the backdrop.
We all tried our luck at kite-flying, and let’s just say I am quite the amateur kite-flyer. But hey, I had a ton of fun trying!
And like that, the weekend was over in the blink of an eye and I miss my family already. Maaaaaaan why does Austin have to be so far from Boulder? I love you guys and can’t wait to see you again soon!

How was your weekend?
What was your last workout?
