This mornings workout was more about mental strength, than it was physical pain. I had a tough track workout that pushed me and left me feeling stronger because of it. That’s what hard workouts are for.

3 miles @ 7:30, 2 miles @ 7:00, 1 mile @ 6:30.
My mantra for todays workout was “don’t let one slow split ruin your entire workout”. I worked hard every lap to maintain my goal pace, and that’s what makes you stronger. You can’t expect to get faster if you’re giving yourself excuses in your head, or letting yourself slow down.
You get faster by sticking with your workout when it’s tough. You don’t say ‘this is tough’, you say ‘I’m tough’. And then you finish stronger – mentally – which just means you can rock your next workout with even more confidence.
And when you’ve got confidence? Anything is possible.
