5 Fun Things

Hey friends, how are you? What have YOU been up to? I feel so removed from the blogging world, I don’t know what any of you are up to. Tell 5 five fun things about you. GO!

Five fun things about me right now…

1. I’ve been more focused than ever on training these days. Speed work, tempos, base work, lifting, long runs. I’m taking 2012 off marathons, and want to focus almost exclusively on 5Ks. I love 5Ks and the intensity they bring. I feel strong, healthy, and fit right now.

2. My brother sent me this the other day and I’m still laughing about it. This could not be more true.

3. One of my best friends (Priya) is in town visiting and I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. We’ve already gone on a few brew tours, gotten hour long massages, make overs, and gone skiing. And we have so much more planned.

4. Weez has been cleared to start running again! He came with me for the first 30 minutes of my 90 minute run this morning and I loved every second of being able to run next to him again. And he didn’t experience any lower leg pain, either. Win!

5. Priya, Weez, and I are going skiing again today. And? For the first time ever, I’m attempting to learn how to snowboard! I’ve been a skier my whole life, but I’ve never tried snowboarding. I’m wildly excited. I taught Weez and Priya both how to ski over the years (they’re such good learners!), but I’m a ‘tough love’ kind of teacher. Lots of “it’s suppose to hurt!” “I don’t care that you’re sore, get up!”. So now that they’ve gotten the hang on skiing, the tables will turn as they get to watch me struggle all day today :) I’m sure I’ll hear a lot of the same “I don’t care that you’re sore, get UP, Erin” Haha. Oh boy.

    It looks like you had…well…fun lol; we all need to give back to ourselves, from time to time. I do mind, body, spirit connection exercises everyday and without it, I would be totally lost. Great post and I look forward to sharing more with you:))

    1. I’ve been a quiet reader for over a year now. I love that you’re a scientist (like me!), a runner (like me!), a newlywed (sort of like me…Does 2 years married count?) – and I appreciate your genuine, but spun-to-the-positive posts. Thanks for sharing!!

    2. Maybe I’ve worked up the nerve to comment now because, at the moment, I’m 8,000 miles away, traveling in Singapore, stuffing myself with Chinese New Year treats.

    3. Or else, maybe I’m commenting now to keep myself from drooling over winter sale items from Athleta… Ah, who am I kidding. I can multi-task with the best of them!

    4. I love thunderstorms, Rummikub (game), and spending holidays laughing & cooking with my family.

    5. I am living out of a (large, hiking) backpack for 4 months…

    Dude are you wearing the same running shirt in those pictures? I call shenanigans. I still have mine, I think its in the pile of shirts to turn into blankets.

    1. I missed my train last night. Fail!
    2. But I read a lot instead. Win!
    3. My hair is so long that I never wear it down.
    4. I drink out of my pink Buffs water bottle and people think I went there. Sometimes, I wish I did!
    5. Mish you! That’s not really fun, but I can’t wait to see you in six months!
