I used random.org to generate the lucky winner of the LA 1/2 marathon entry. Since each of you (there were only 3) answered all 3 questions, there were 9 entries total (entries 1-3 for Maggie, 4-6 for Lauren, 7-9 for Jasminka). And the lucky winner is…. Maggie!!!
Maggie, I’ll email you the free entry code!
Our weekend was chalked full of puppy play time, cooking, and a trip to Ft. Collins to experience another wonderful year’s performance of Merry Tuba Christmas.
Have you heard of Merry Tuba Christmas?
It’s so great. Anyone from the community who plays a lower brass instrument (tuba, baritone, euphonium) gathers to play Christmas music for the rest of the community at a designated local facility/outdoor spot/etc. The musicians only practice together once (just a few hours before the performance), but they sound amazing together because nothing sounds prettier that 100 tubas playing silent night in unison.
My brother plays the baritone (but his is back home in Ohio), but we all went to watch and listen and carol along with the players. Such a festive, community-centered event.
(hey Melon, recognize my hat?? :))
We spent the majority of the weekend playing with Cabo and Daisy (we dog-sat for my friend, LJ). What’s better than one black lab puppy? TWO black labs frolicking. I was pretty much “awwwww”ing all weekend at these two. I love them. Dogs are the best.
It’s really a shame that I don’t have a proper outdoor zoom lens. I mean, honestly, these pictures could have been soooo much better had I had a Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 on my DSLR body. I’m just saying. Who wants to buy me this bad boy? Santa? No? Haha, I wish. Dang camera lenses, you cost so bloody much.
Lastly, I will leave you with my favorite “us” photograph from our wedding. Our professional photographers (Lisa and Clay, from Red Gallery Photography – who are, THE bomb, just saying. Seriously if you live in Ohio and are getting married/having babies/engaged/or want amazing photos, you need to hire these guys) sent us the digital copies and I can’t stop looking through them. I love every shot they captured.
Happy Monday, folks!
