Trifecta, Round 2!

Saturday was a heck of a day and I’ve got the mad sore legs to prove it. Dan, Weez, and I hiked the Trifecta (10 miles, 3 mountains, 6 hours point-to-point). Perhaps going for that long of a hike after losing all of my leg muscles over the past 4 weeks wasn’t the wisest thing I’ve ever done. But we had a great time, good weather, and got some great pictures (major thanks to Dan, our summit photographer).

We did this hike last summer, but holy moly I am definitely more sore this time around. I woke up on Sunday wondering if I had accidentally run a marathon the day before, because sweetlord the soreness is comparable.  If Weez and I are gonna summit 10 more mountains this summer (for the wedding centerpieces!), I best get my hikin’ legs back quick!

I got out for a nice 40 minute run this morning. No GPS watch. Just me, the trails, and some good tunes. The run helped loosen up my sore legs. I hope the quad soreness goes away by Monday… I’m running the Bolder Boulder! Since I’m still trying to get my legs back after the surgery, Weez and I are just gonna have a ton of fun with it :) Costumes, maybe some face paint, and certainly a ton of pictures and/or videos will be shot. Weez and I have a fun costume ideas in the works. We just need to purchase two hats and the look will be complete.

Muahaha, so excited!

Anyone else running a Memorial Day run/race this weekend?
