11 miles of perfection

Have I told you how much I love where I live?
I feel so lucky to live where I do, to run on these trails.
Trail running is the best, hands down. With these bad boys run-able from my apartment, why would I ever run on pavement? Granted, climbing 1217 ft of elevation over 11 miles isn’t easy… but what doesn’t kill ya makes you stronger. My run’s profile:
My view:
Right?! Sigh…

The 11 miler felt GREAT, you guys. No knee pains! And?? No blister issues!! The reason? My new best friend…
I want to thank everyone who suggested I check this stuff out. Seriously, it’s a gooey Godsend. Calling around stores to see if they sold Body Glide was a bit awkward, though. Have you ever tried describing this stuff to anyone who has no idea what it is?! Yeah… Luckily, REI sells it! So of course when I went there to buy some, I had to purchase a bag full of various sports nutrition packs like GU, Hammer Gel, Clif Shot Gel, and PowerBar Energy (all of which I plan on testing out and blogging about later. The scientist in me is really excited). Anyways, I had ZERO blister issues and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Thank you Body Glide!

An 11 miler like this one really boosts my confidence. I felt great the whole time. I like to judge my fitness level by how far I think I could have kept running by the end. This time? I felt like I could have gone at least another 30 minutes.

10 more long runs till Boston :)
