Achy knees and photogenic pups


The O.J. 6.1 mile satellite run was a huge success and I’m pumped that I ran for 50+ minutes. But I’ll admit something: my knee hurts more than usual these days.

It’s not a sharp pain, but rather a 2/10 type of dull ache. Like someone hit the side of my knee with a hammer a few days ago and it’s bruised. I’m feeling a wee bit down about the whole thing, ’cause I keep thinking it can only get worse, right? How am I suppose to train up to 26.2 miles on an already sensitive knee? Sigh. I’ll take a few days off, ice it, foam roll, and wear the recovery sleeve, but who knows. I don’t want to dwell, but if this is a running blog (sorta) I figured I’d be honest about what’s going on.

On to more positive things! DOGGIES. We have 3 of them here and I’m pretty much in heaven every time I sit down on the couch. They’re all so cuddly and loving. That, and they’re always up to having their pictures taken.

Did anyone else run an Operation Jack Satellite run? How was it?? Did anyone run the OJ Marathon in Cali??

    Sorry to hear about your knee! I’ve been dealing with a weird knee for a few weeks that sounds kinda like what you describe… I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for healthy knees all around!!!

    When I did the Denver Half, I managed to run the first five and half miles before my IT acted up (given I hadn’t run since august I was surprised). It was sore for a few days after, but it got better. I’m sure yours will also especially since your much better at doing the rolling, icing, and stretching than I am.
