Halloweekend

on

I hope you had wonderful Halloween weekend! I just had the best time, going out with some girl friends on Friday, at my friends’ annual Halloween party on Saturday night, and spending all day cooking new recipes with my brother who was visiting from Wyoming.

Last week, my roomie from my first year out here in CO had her birthday, so we decided to dress up and go out to celebrate! Denver night life is certainly different than Boulder’s, so it was fun to get dressed up (I mean, after all, we’re chemistry grad students – we don’t get to do this very often!). We had a blast :)

On Saturday, I got up and went for a light jog/walk. Much to my (hesitant) excitement, my knee didn’t hurt (at all!) for the 25 minutes of jog/walking!

In the afternoon, my brother drove down from Wyoming to join in the Halloween night festivities. Weez was Blue Man Group, my brother was The Most Interesting Man in the World (the Dos Equis commercial guy), and I was a green fairy. I’ll admit, the wig was totally fun.

Everyone had really cool costumes and the party was fantastic (nice work, Dan/Thayne/Ely!).

Sunday was spent cleaning up, grocery shopping, and cooking. My bro (who could quit grad school and start his own restaurant if he wanted) taught me how to make wontons, focaccia bread, quinoa, and then we made candy apples. Mmm, I’m all set for the week!

I went for another jog/walk this morning (I’m allowed to jog for 10 mins straight now, with a 2 min walk recovery. For 2 sets.) and again, my knee didn’t hurt at all! I’ve got my fingers crossed. So far, so good!

Have a great Wednesday, all!
