Bambi Legs

Life is good this morning. Life is good because I went for my first “run” in 6 weeks, with permission from Paul (physical therapist). When my alarm went off, I hopped out of bed like it was Christmas morning. I was excited to put running clothes on for the first time in over a month.

Paul told me I could ease slowly back into running, starting from literally ground 0. I’ve never been this ‘out of running shape’ in my life and it’s weird. The idea of running any sort of real distance right now just blows my mind. So it’s a good thing that Paul is easing me back slowwwwwwwly. Starting with jogging for 3 minutes, walking for 2. Repeating for 5 cycles. And I can only do this every other day. So that means, I’ll probably continue swimming on the in-between days.

Level of knee pain: 0
Attitude: Cautiously skeptical

But the knee didn’t hurt, so I’ll take it! I look forward to easing my Bambi legs back into this whole jog/walk thing. I’m keepin’ these fingers crossed… but cheers to Back to Running Day 1!

    Was just there on the comeback trail last year. It’s a bummer at first, but you’ll get it back. Listen to your body and your doctor!
