My weekend at home in Ohio, though packed with fun running events (and meeting one of my running heros), wasn’t all about the marathon. I had an aaaaaaamazing time seeing my parents, grandma, brother, and several family friends.
I hung out with my dad on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at a local charity event that he was part of and got to meet tons of his co-volunteers. My grandma and I hung out talking about grandpa and she told me cute stories about those two when they were younger. My mom and dad threw a huge pasta party on Saturday night. My bro’s best friend from college came by and an old family friend (Pat) from our days in Singapore stayed with us over the weekend, too. We played Catch Phrase and laughed and reminisced about the good ol’ days when we were awkward middle schoolers.
After the marathon, Pat surprised us with champagne and we toasted to old friends and the success of completing the Cleveland marathon.
I pigged out on food, relaxed in the hot tub, and napped on the couch. Then my mom took my brother and I to the airport and the weekend was over. As quick as that :)
Can I relive the weekend again, please? It still feels like a dream.
