I went to a Howard Dean and Karl Rove debate on campus last night. YEAAAAAAHHHHH! (No? You don’t remember that? Oh. It was funny, and I laughed). My camera phone usually takes pretty decent pictures, but I guess the lighting in the auditorium was weird, hence the crappy quality. (camera phone fail) But Dean is on the right and Rove is on the left. We were 8 rows from the stage and because we are students, our tickets were only a BUCK. Win!
It was educational and I’m glad I went. Then at the end, some crazy punk kid stood up and screamed something incredibly mature and very insightful (sarcastic), which I just had to laugh off because, well, I live in Boulder and I was at a political debate.
I got in a solid 30 minute run this morning and my IT band up near my hip is a smidgen sore. I’ve been foam rolling like it’s my job because I don’t want anything to do with the dreaded hip/knee pain any time soon. My knee has been so good to me lately, I suppose to should stretch it and foam roller it as much as possible. I had an assistant coach in college, good ol’ Coach Dean (love that man), who’d always talk to us about stretching. But let’s me honest, I get lazy. I’d rather go inside and inhale my breakfast, than take the 5 minutes to stretch out my hammies, quads, and calves. But you’d be proud, Coach D, I’ve been much better these days!
Track workout tomorrow, swim on Thursday, normal run Friday, long run Saturday. Dats my plan, and I’m stickin’ to it.
Happy Mardi Gras everyone! Now I’ll go shove some candy in my face…
