Guess what? I went running yesterday! 3 miles, 24 minutes. My knee hurt during and all day afterwards. Yippee.
I’ve only run twice since the NC Trail Marathon back in November. It’s my darn knee. It’s the IT band. I stretch, I ice, I take anti-swelling meds, I go to physical therapy, I take weeks and weeks off running. I swim instead. And nothing seems to help. Am I Debby Downer today? Yes. Did a weep a few tears last night? I might have. Will I suck it up and get over this? Most certainly. It’s just frustrating, ya know? Running is one of the most enjoyable things in my life. I don’t want to lose it. I want to be able to run the Cleveland Marathon in May and the Denver Marathon in October. Running Gods, please don’t take those away from me.
In other, more positive news: during my lunch break today, I took a stroll around campus with a fellow photography-loving friend to take pictures of the pretty snow all over campus. It’s GORGEOUS here. I can’t wait to show you the pictures. I’ll post them tomorrow for foto Friday :)
I’m going for a swim later tonight! I haven’t been very good at keeping track of my laps/distance, so I’ll try and do that tonight. Ta ta for now!
