What an amazing Christmas break! After spending 9 glorious days at home with my fam, I went up to Michigan to spend 4 days with Weez and his family. Can I just tell you how much I love them? They are the most generous, loving, funny, friendly, welcoming people you’ll ever meet. Weez lived in the same house his entire life until he moved out to CO two and a half years ago. It was so neat seeing where he grew up, his grade school, high school, college, grandparents’ houses, and meeting all his friends. I love learning about peoples’ pasts and seeing where they come from. It meant the world to me to spend New Years Eve with his family. I can’t believe I didn’t get any pictures when I was up there! Major drag.
The road trip back to CO was (fortunately) uneventful. Weez and I had some sweet sing-a-longs though. I love belting it out in the car, rocking out to good music. Weez is a much better singer than I… I’m sure he never wants to hear me sing again. ;)
I went grocery shopping last night to stock my previously empty shelves and made a delish Indian dish that will last all week for lunches. I came back to the lab today and life seems to be falling back into the regular routine.
Can I go back to the midwest now? I miss it already.
