One day till Thanksgiving! It’s my mom’s favorite holiday :) One of mine, too. I love being with my family, cuddling on the couch with the dogs, the house filling with delicious smells, and being absurdly full and uncomfortable like you never want to eat again. Mmm, can’t wait!
This morning, I’m on my way to my sister’s place in Balitmore to spend the holiday with my family! I’m so excited! I’d be even more excited if Greg (my sis’s hubby) would be with us, too. But he’s in Iraq serving on a tour of duty with the Army right now.
Greg and my sis are coming to CO in Feb. for one of his two weeks of vacay mid-tour. It’s going to be so much fun. We’re staying in condos in Vail and skiing every day – which is exactly why one of my goals is learn how to ski moguls better/properly. I get to ski every weekend out here if I want (I’ve already gone once this season!)… I can’t have Greg showin’ me up on the slopes!
Anyhoo, on Saturday I’m running the Northern Central Trail Half Marathon. I’m pumped! Maybe I’ll burn off half of the calories I consume on Thanksgiving. I hope my knee holds out on me. It’s been really bothering me on my runs this week. PT has helped, but I think the 11 miler last Saturday really screwed it up again. My goal for the 1/2 is to just have fun with my siblings (they’re running it with me!). But when I get back to CO, I’m switching my athletic activity from running to… SWIMMING! Yeah, me? Swimming? I just hope I don’t drown.
I hope you all have wonderful Thanksgivings with your family/friends! Eat lots of Turkey, find thanks for all the wonderful things we have in our lives, and pass out on the couch while watching football. I know that’s what I’ll be doing tomorrow night. Love,
