We got married on a Friday, relaxed with friends and family on Saturday at Cedar Point Amusement Park then at my parents’ home for a grand BBQ, but by Sunday morning we were whisked off for our luxurious honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas!
Um, hello tropical gorgeous weather. The view from our honeymoon suite…
We spent everyday at the infinity pool, overlooking the ocean. With a swim up bar and lunch and drinks brought out to us as we pleased. For us (quasi vegan/not big drinkers), it was a celebrated time to enjoy ourselves a bit more than usual. And man, was it a treat.
My favorite late afternoon hang out spot were these hammocks, tied between 3 palm trees. We’d sip daiquiris or iced coffees, talk about life and love, and sway to the ocean breeze.
One of the days, we went on a snorkeling excursion, taken out on a catamaran :) We saw tons of fish, sea urchins, star fish, and corals. The water was warm and the snorkeling was great. It was Weez’s first time, too! And he learned like a champ!
On another one of the days, we went zip lining! This, I highly recommend. We got to ride 8 lines, 3 of which tandem! Neither of us had ever ziplined before, so it was a really cool experience we’ll never forget.
It was such a relaxing honeymoon. The ocean and waves were spectacular. We’d go for walks and read out by the ocean on lawn chairs while the sun set. And I even got to check off #9 on my list of 26 before 26…
Surprisingly, we did make a point to run a few times. 3 in fact. Which was about 3 times more than I expected us to run while honeymooning. But with this little thing called the Denver RnR marathon in, um, 4 days (freaking out), we made sure to get a little base training in.
On our last night, as we were strolling along the beach, we came upon this…
Baby sea turtles being released to the ocean!
There were probably a hundred of them, ever so slowly making their way to the water. The waves would come crashing in, and take a few, while the others left behind slowly inched their way forward. After about a half hour, the last of the babies made it to the water and everyone started cheering. It was super cute.
I feel refreshed, pampered, tanned, and totally ready to take on this newly wed life. The past 2 weeks are ones I’ll never forget. I still can’t believe we’re actually, finally married! Every time I hear “Mrs” I get giddy. It’s an awesome feeling.
It was the perfect honeymoon :)
